After a few hours traveling, fresh fruit was very welcome! Though we decided to be good and save the sparkling wine until the evening.
The suite itself had a sitting room, bedroom and large bathroom (with both a bath and a shower). I love it when hotels have a pillow menu so was delighted to see that this was the case here.
Though the bed was huge and very comfortable, I would have preferred a double duvet rather than two singles.
The bathroom itself was a delight: I love bathrooms with a separate shower and bath – mainly as it means I can lounge in the bath until my heart is content and that Andy isn’t restricted from having a post-swim shower!
It was stocked with all the usual amenities that you would expect…
There was one touch that this hotel provided that I thought was fantastic: beach bags, already packed with flip flops, water bottles and pool towels. Safe to say we made great use of this at the pool!
As a total coffee addict I was delighted to see a Nespresso machine in the room for us to use!
We had a great view from the balcony: stretching to the restaurant, pool and even all the way to the sea!
Your hotel room rate comes with half board: breakfast and dinner are both included in the rate, which we thought was truly excellent.
The restaurant is split inside and out, and as it was beautiful weather, we were able to sit outside for every meal.
Each and every detail had been taken care of: down to the beautiful lavender on all the tables and local lavender being given to each guest upon departure.
Food wise we opted for a club sandwich and chicken ceasar salad to split, which were both great, though we wished the bread hadn’t been as dry.
So great that Andy forgot rule #1 of food blogging and tucked straight into his meal!
The hotel is an adult only resort which meant it was entirely peaceful, and made the grounds a wonderful place to take a nice post lunch walk.
In the interests of good blogging (you’re welcome!) I booked a spa tester: a half hour facial and a half hour back and shoulder massage.
There’s a full spa at the neighbouring hotel in the resort, but I fancied just staying in our hotel, and the therapist was more than happy to come to me – a real plus point in my opinion.
After an afternoon of exploring our new surroundings, lunching and pool-enjoying, we headed back to our suite and enjoyed our bottle of sparkling wine on the terrace, before heading down for dinner.
It really was a beautiful start to the evening.
The food on the whole was good, though some dishes were a little bland and not to our tastes.
For pudding you can either order the hot dessert of the evening or pick some cold desserts for the buffet.
All in all, you’re not going to be leaving dinner until you’re very full!
I’ve already shown you the pool, but it’s too beautiful not to share a few more snaps with you..!
Breakfast was a real showstopper: by far the best breakfast that we had in Croatia. Again, it was a buffet, but the selection was incredible and the restaurant were more than happy to make different sorts of eggs for you on request.
I usually started my day with a whole heap of fruit – I couldn’t resist, it was all just too delicious; and squirreled away a peach for a post swim snack
Though if you preferred pancakes (who wouldn’t?), hard boiled eggs, cereals… It was all there.
And yes, that is a cheeky glass of sparkling wine you see with my croissants!
I loved that the hotel left bottles of bubbles for you to enjoy with your breakfast, it felt so indulgent and really added to the luxurious hotel experience. It certainly added to the adult only vibe! If you’re looking for a really romantic hotel, this is definitely for you.
It was also one of the only hotes, along with Vestibul Palace, that offered you proper coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice as part of your breakfast.
Hotel Adriana was an absolute dream of a hotel: a luxurious, peaceful hotel to really relax, unwind and indulge.
