Serene Stargarzers at St Mawes Retreats

I love Cornwall: whether it’s summer time and there’s endless fun to be had outdoors or it’s winter and all you want to do is come home, cosy under a duvet and watch films all day, it’s a really special place.
And the one thing you really want after a day of outdoor adventuring or when it’s miserable outside? A little haven to call your own. That’s just what Stargazers was for us: a luxurious home to return to when the weather forced us back indoors.

I promised you a full tour of our home for the weekend when I told you all about our relaxing weekend so I won’t tempt you any more..!

When we arrived, I couldn’t resist tearing my boots off, throwing my coat down as quickly as possible to explore the house. I felt a little like a kid on Christmas morning when I walked into this house.
Our hosts had left us a cream tea, some lovely flowers…

And a really thoughtful card welcoming us to Stargazers.

I wasted no time and went straight for the master bedroom: a huge room, complete with a bed fit for a princess, lounge chairs to admire the view, TV to watch as you fall asleep…

It really did have it all – and more!

I’ve already said how much I loved the dressing area; it was a great area to get ready for the day ahead – and meant that I didn’t clog up the bathroom with all my ‘essentials’!

Everything at St Mawes Retreats has been thought of and there are beautiful finishing touches everywhere. I loved the messages on these cushions…

Especially this one – I thought we were going to have to sail down some of the roads that weekend!

The master bathroom really was the perfect place to retreat to…
And to show you just how incredible this property was: the master bedroom has it’s own kitchen! ’cause why walk any further than you have to top up your champagne glass or your morning cup of coffee?
The house is all open plan and leads out onto the garden; perfect for the summer months when you can enjoy the Cornish outdoors.

The Selby family don’t just leave you with a stunning property; St Mawes Retreats really have thought of everything. Even though the kitchen is gorgeous and a really lovely place to cook, they have a private chef who can come in and cook a three course meal for everyone. Unfortunately he was already busy on the Saturday evening so we didn’t get a chance to use this service, but I think it would be a great way to make a luxury holiday even more luxurious.

It also gives all the usual chefs a time to take a break and relax.

The living space would be great for large groups as, although it’s all open plan, it’s split into two living rooms and a dining room. Perfect as you’re all together, but there’s no chance of you all feeling squashed here.
I loved the little sitting room as somewhere cosy to watch films, put the fire on and play games.

If you’re not an expert fire builder don’t panic, it’s all set ready to go for it’s first light and then all you’ve got to do is top it up with the logs that are available for you to use.

It makes the perfect little spot to warm up.
The kitchen area was fabulous; a great window seat to watch the waves come in (or the sunshine if you’re luck with the weather!)…

An endless dining table, perfect for reunion or large family dinners…

Or Scrabble and champagne if you’re us..!

And a dreamy kitchen, stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes, cutlery and glasses you could ever wish for. It’s serious kitchen inspiration, especially as the island unit doubles as a casual breakfast bar which I loved.
Though we did indulge in breakfast in bed and watched the news as this weekend was a real treat.

Stargazers sleeps 10 and the main living room is large enough to make sure that everyone is accommodated in comfort with lots of space.

I adored these mugs – though I’m not sure Andy appreciated the sentiment!

And just look at that view… Who wouldn’t want to wake up to that?

Finishing touches throughout the house remind you that you’re right beside the sea and make it feel oh so homely.

Plenty of space at the door to abandon those muddy boots after your long country walks.

To complete the luxurious feel that Stargazers has, the house is fully stocked with REN toiletries in all the bathrooms.

It’s not just the master bedroom that is lovely; each of the rooms are decorated beautifully, have comfortable beds and wonderful linen. In a really well thought through touch, all the rooms have ensuites, which I love as it makes things so much easier for everyone.
So no matter what room you’re in, you know you’re in for a good night’s sleep!

Most of them also have an incredible sea view…

If that isn’t luxurious enough for you, you also have the option of a massage in your house, freezer meals to ensure that you never cook whilst on holiday, floral arrangements delivered to the house and a concierge to attend to your every need.

It’s no wonder I smiled this much all weekend!

We were guest of St Mawes Retreats but all opinions are my own.
