Sunday’s are for doggy walks, roast dinners and a good ol’ film in front of the fire as far as I’m concerned. A chance to catch up with yourself before the next week starts.
So with that in mind the Mr and I set off for a sunny Sunday stroll on the South Downs yesterday.
After a quick ramble up the (rather large) hill we came across what seemed like literally hundreds of sheep! I was a little sad to have missed the little lambs, but not long till they arrive!
^^This pair had just managed to get themselves out of a rather deep ditch.
And soon the glorious views were upon us!
I couldn’t resist shhhh-ing the mister and making us both stand still so that I could snap a few photos of these wild bunnies! There are quite an amazing number of these little lovelies running around, it’s really quite incredible.
The fact that these trees have grown sideways because of the wind gives you a pretty good idea of what my hair was doing!
There are quite literally some of the most incredible views there, I’ve never seen anything like it, not even in the Scottish hills.
It was so much warmer that either of us were expecting, and we couldn’t have been luckier with the weather. The whole day was a dream!
I’d given up on having my hair down by this point; the wind had rather different plans. I’m still tugging knots out of it!
If I can advise you of one thing, it’s how wonderful these boots are. Dubarry boots are like warmer wellies, they keep your feet super toasty, they never let any water in (I have a friend who has honestly been in rivers in hers!) and they wash so easily. A bit pricey, I’ll admit, but boy are they worth it. They’re the kind of boots that get better with age!
I never realised how white the cliffs really are! Maybe it’s against the background but boy, aren’t they wonderful!
This place really is a dog lover and a photographer’s paradise!
But, as the afternoon wore on, it was time to head to the pub for fish and chips, before heading home for that roast!
Oh, how I’ve missed England!
