Crêpes and Wine: The Perfect Bretton Revision Break

So I know, most of my posts have recently been foodie posts – but when you’re studying for finals, there’s not really much excitement in your life: apart from food.
Knowing this fine well, and determined to drag my backside out of the flat (read: revision cave), my mum, flatmate and I decided to treat ourselves to some French delicacies: crêpes and wine!

This lovely little restaurant has just popped up around the corner from our flat, and we’ve been determined to try it out. And boy, were we impressed!

Brittany, the region of France I’m living in, is famous for it’s crêpes and its cider – as well as its striped tops! Not feeling in a cider mood, we decided to opt for some wine to wash our lunch down. That pitcher ^ is actually stuffed with beautifully delicious white wine. I’m really going to miss being able to buy wine by the litre in a restaurant… And it being ridiculously cheap.

I opted for a delicious crêpe with smoked bacon, cheese, mushrooms and a fried egg and a side salad (concession to trying to be healthy). And it was deeeelicious!

I would have preferred the yolk to be a little more runny, but it certainly wasn’t a deal breaker!

My flatmate had something similar, but with tomatoes instead of mushrooms. And mum, well she was feeling adventurous! She opted for a crêpe with ratatouille and chorizo, and it was glorious! Definitely on my list next time we go back.

Not quite ready to go back to work, and with some wine left, we decided we weren’t quite done and decided to share a salted caramel sweet crêpe.

Oh boy.

Well, it was just as good as it sounds! I love going for meals with my flatmate – I know that pudding is always on the cards, and if we’re trying to be good we can always share!

Well, I think you can tell we enjoyed it..!

They also have a great deal where you can get a savory crêpe, a chocolate crêpe and a quarter litre of cider for 10 euros – not bad eh?!
That’s how to do a revision break in style in France isn’t it? We thought so too!
It’s so new that I can’t find a website for it, but it’s just behind the post office at République on the corner of Rue Pré Botté and Rue Jules Simon.
