In an attempt to cheer ourselves up after an exam, Mihiqua and I headed out for some dinner and some wine – what a treat from Dad! The problem with Monday’s in France is that most things are closed (don’t ask – I have no idea), but we know this little delight of a place about 5 minutes from us that serves up some pretty damn good burgers, and so we got dressed up, braved the cold and the rain and headed to Le Grill for some seriously good food.

We’ve been here a couple of times already, but it’s always a great place to go – good food, great service and great atmosphere. We started with some seriously tasty olives which we picked away whilst having a good gossip, giggling away until (most of) the stress of the day had disappeared.

To be honest, I’m usually a bacon cheese burger fan, but last night I was feeling adventurous, so I branched out a little. I went for the foie gras burger – and it was as delicious as it sounds!

Warm foie gras, tender meat and cheese, Helllooooo. It was literally oooozing with taste – so perfect.

Mihiqua was feeling a little more classic and went for the bacon cheese burger, a stellar choice – but she nearly missed the bacon (testament to how tired we were!!)

And these chips. Yes please. It was the exact comfort food that we needed!

A bottle of red topped it off nicely!

The only down side with going out on a Monday, is that it’s a little quiet. But we didn’t mind last night – it was just great to get away from revision, and out of the flat for a while.

With full tummies we wandered home under the Christmas lights and snuggled into our beds, and promptly fell fast asleep!
