As I write this I can hardly believe that it’s nearly New Year’s Eve already. But that’s generally how it goes, isn’t it?
2016 has been quite a year for me, and looking back on what happened I can’t quite believe I managed to fit so much into a year…
On a personal level, I’ve finally finished studying and started a new job in London. Both of those have certainly kept me busy and that’s before I’ve even thought about what I’ve done with my blog.
Starting on a purely aesthetic level, The Lifestyle Diaries has had a complete makeover, and though there’s still a few big changes that I want to make, I’m so much happier with the new look. It’s cleaner, easier to use and a lot prettier than it used to be. But I think there’s going to be even more to do in 2017…
I’ve worked on my photographs too, and learned to use my camera properly and I’m so pleased with the difference in the quality of my snaps!
The Foodie’s 2016
Well, she’s certainly been indulged… From incredible experiences at some of London’s finest hotels’ in house restaurants, including The Dorchester, Four Seasons London and Marcus at The Berkeley (yet to be blogged!) …
When it comes to afternoon tea, I’ve also indulged quite a lot (okay, possibly a little more than I should have done…) enjoying special afternoon teas at the Four Seasons (celebration of summertime), The Dorchester (chocolate indulgence) and The Landmark (Wimbledon).
One of my favourite memories of the year was Angie’s very special afternoon tea at The Dalloway Terrace, where we celebrated not only the beautiful venue, but also Angie’s love of literature.
Finally, at the more fun and less formal end of the scale, my favouite restaurant was Senor Ceviche, where I celebrated the end of my exams!
The Traveler’s 2016
Well, I’m still rounding up my 10 best hotels of the year, so I’ll be keeping those a secret for now. But with many more staycations in London that I had planned (always more fun when they’re unplanned!) and some still to tell you all about, even though I’ve not been able to travel as much as I would have liked, I’ve still seen some incredible hotels.
With not being able to take much holiday I’ve been Europe bound this year and enjoyed some wonderful long weekends in Paris and Barcelona, as well as exploring beautiful Jersey, the Cotswolds and Cornwall (twice!)
The Blogger’s 2016
I really wanted The Lifestyle Diaries to grow this year, but I don’t I ever expected to end the year with parterships with Harrods, a countryside escape with Laurent Perrier and even an article in collaboration with Match in Stylist!
With 2017 already looking like a really exciting year for travel, including trips to Thailand and the South of France in the first few months and more trips being planned, I can’t wait to experience more luxury travel that the world has to offer!
Happy New Year!
