The Big Easy: As Tasty As It Is Easy

When Kirsty said that there was a good, inexpensive sit down restaurant slap bang in the middle of Covent Garden I thought she had lost the plot.
But being the inquisitive foodie that I am, I couldn’t not try it, could I? Enter The Big Easy – a great Bar.B.Q. and Lobstershack that will leave you wanting more.

We met on Kirsty’s lunch hour so we needed to go somewhere quick and easy and the Big Easy fit the bill perfectly. We ordered from the lunch menu and both opted for the lobster roll with fries.

Their lunch menu is an absolute steal: usually you order 2 courses and a drink for £10 (one of which can be a takeaway cupcake if you’re in a hurry), but since we’ve both got holidays coming up we tried to be minorly good. Okay, as good as you can be when you’re having a posh brioche sandwich and chips.
As we were being oh-so-good we paid just £7 each – and that included a glass of wine each! Incredible.
I may have been a little hungry and dug straight into my food without checking whether this photo was in focus or not. Ooops. Bad blogger.
The roll itself is served on brioche bread which was a really lovely sweet touch. The roll was a little large for the serving of the lobster in my opinion, and it was also a little drier than I would have liked. However, it was extremely tasty – excellent recommendation, Kirsty!
The chips at the top of the pile were also quite cool – which did make me wonder if thye had been sitting around for a while. But when I hit the warm ones they were very tasty, even though I only had a few with the whole trying to be healthy thing.

I loved the interior decor: it’s kitted out in a very industrial way, but isn’t cold and off-putting.

I think next time I’ve got to make more use of this very extensive bar!

If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat in Covent Garden, make sure this place is on your radar!

NOOOOO! You need to go to the Big Easy in Chelsea RIGHT NOW. It's the original and so much better. I absolutely love it. And you need to have the full lobster and big starters with a side of cornbread and their amaaaazing cocktails. Ok you know what, let's just do dinner there in August so I can show you? 😛
