Boy was this a good recommendation from a friend! Tom’s Kitchen is one of the best London restaurants I’ve been to in a long time! Since the mister and I were staying in Tower Hill to celebrate Christmas, Tom’s Kitchen was just a short (and pretty) stumble away. If you’re ever in London there are quite a few of Tom’s around and about, and I’d highly recommend that you check them out for a bite to eat.

If you’re lucky enough you’ll even take someone with you who can get in the way of your photos!

The entrance is right on the docks, which makes a lovely pre-dinner walk and gives you such a nice setting to stare into.

By the time I’d finally reached the restaurant after taking all my photos I think the mister had been sitting down for a while, and had even managed to order some wine!

…and then he wrestled the camera from me! I was wearing my favourite new jumpsuit, a very lovely Christmas present, which is actually on sale just now! It’s super flattering and a great fit, even for someone like me who doesn’t always have the easiest figure to buy a jumpsuit for – it fits true to size if you’re purchasing it!

The lighting wasn’t perfect, and I couldn’t capture it, but I’m also wearing my favourite new lip gloss. The colour is fantastic and it lasts forever, as well as coming in a truly beautiful range of colours (with matching nail polishes, I’m just saying…). You can have a little look at the full lip gloss range here and here.

I’m wearing no. 18 (Seduction) which is just perfect for a good pout! (Okay, so a bad pout, but you get the point!), and I also have my eye on Pirate, which looks gorgeous.

// White Company Jumpsuit // ASOS Jumpsuit (absolute bargain!) // Chanel Lipgloss (such a treat!) //
But onto the food, which was as beautiful as the setting itself. I had a gorgeous pork, duck and fois grois terrine on sourdough with red onion chutney to start, and boy, was it as good as it looked. The only little problem was I ate it all. Ooops. Next time, I’m going to leave more room for mains!

Andy plumped for the spiced crab cake, which you know, I just had to test. A very good choice as well, but I don’t think it beat my pate!

The only thing I would criticise was that I would have preferred a little longer between courses, but hey, if that’s all you’ve got to say I think it’s a pretty good deal all round! I wish the light had been a little better so that I could properly have captured this meal, because I don’t think I’m doing it justice with these photos.

I went for the Chicken Schnitzel with Roasted Balsamic Peppers. Oh wow. I want it again right now! Super tasty, and not just a regular chicken dish, and as you can imagine, it was superbly cooked.

And then Andy’s dish came. And I had major food envy. He went for the Spiced Pork Belly which was frankly, every bit as good as it sounds. Those parsnips on top. Oh my!

After a very filling and delicious meal we wandered to our new home for the night, and we found some very pretty little sights on the way there.

Towe Bridge in all it’s (slightly fuzzy) glory, lit up on a very cold December night. I promise, I will figure out to work the night setting on my camera soon!

But I did manage to get a cheeky photo of the Shard and its light show as seen from in front of The Tower of London.

And I snapped a final pic of Tower Bridge before Andy told me he was turning into an icicle!

What a festive little treat! Until next time Tower Bridge!

Reads as a good wine, perhaps in future you'd consider uploading photos of the labels front and back? I like zesty chardonnay, don't like oak though.

  • Will do next time! It was pretty zesty (it's the zesty section of the wine list) and I don't remember tasting any oak xx
