Rainy Morning Breakfast at Hotel Tresanton

After a heavenly night’s sleep and a long lie in at St Mawes Retreats, Andy and I decided to brave the elements and head out for breakfast. I kid you not when I say my umbrella lasted five seconds – that’s how bad the wind was – so we definitely needed a good breakfast to warm and cheer us up!

We’d had recommendations to book breakfast at Hotel Tresanton, a gorgeous boutique hotel with an incredible view across the harbour. The hotel was originally created as a yachtsman’s club before being turned into the beauty that it is today by current owner Olga Polizzi.
Breakfast is a set price of £20 per head and includes unlimited access to the buffet as well as hot meals, coffee and tea – so if you’re hungry this is a great place to fuel yourself for a day of exploring Cornwall.

I started out with the best of intentions and had some fruit and nuts from the buffet…

As well as a delicious cappuccino.

Believe it or not I had actually dried my hair that morning…

Before being entirely seduced by the hot menu… Delicious warm, fresh toast…

And an incredible eggs Benedict with thick ham and a perfect hollondaise.

True to form Andy ordered the full English, and loved it.

I was pretty damn pleased with my #yolkporn…

Not entirely satisfied with a full English, Andy couldn’t resist the temptation of the pancakes!

I have to say I’m quite happy he couldn’t because they were incredible – and as pancake day was approaching it was a must order… Right?!

A dreamy little spot for a long, leisurely breakfast and even better in the summer I would imagine when you can make use of the gorgeous terrace.
