A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the House of Fraser A/W 15 Press Day to get a sneak preview of their exciting collections for this AW. It was a glorious sunny day and we were inside looking at coats – it was quite bizarre in a way! But, more to the point, the collections are stunning!
Perhaps my favourite piece being this amazing Dickens & Jones coat!

Not usually my colours I have to admit, but I loved the shape, the style and I can just picture it looking fantastic with knee high boots and really well fitting jeans! In fact, I can quickly seeing it becoming one of my winter staples! It’ll also bring a pop of colour to those dark winter days – one of this season’s major trends. Have I justified it enough to buy it yet?!

I’m also a huge fan of dresses, and in fact, I wear them whenever I can. This particular number I would style with a heavy knitted cardigan and over the knee boots for the perfect winters day outfit.

And on the slightly more dressed up front? This black and white crepe number was calling my name! I’m sure I’m not the only girl who has about 4 million black dresses in her wardrobe, but this one is oh so different – no? Okay, but it’s still stunning and a necessity!

I just adore the details!

It wouldn’t be autumn without tweed – and this Ralph Lauren number really does hit the spot. It’s such a classic style, and I really don’t know where I would be without my tweeds in Winter. They’re so warm, very stylish and can be thrown over every day time outfit that you’re wearing.

I didn’t get a proper snap of it, but can you see the denim top peaking out behind the tweed? It’s a fantastic Victoria Beckham number, and it’s actually part of a top and skirt set. I love that denim has made a reappearance this summer and it seems as though it’ll be a big part of A/W 15 as well.

Now, no winter is complete without a gorgeous coat and boy oh boy is this going to be mine. I love the colour, the fabric and the belt tie. It’s got my name written all over it! And it’s super on trend as part of the soft feel that a lot of this winter’s pieces will have.

The accessories came in the classic autumn/winter colours – and I adored the fringing on this Biba bag. Very wild and in-keeping with the wild thing trend that we’ll be seeing pretty often.

And well, you can never go wrong with a very classic, minimal Ralph Lauren handbag (with the tweed..!).

Black heels = a necessity, right?! These babies are destined for my shoe-drobe; they’re absolutely stunning and I adored the lace detail on them. I think it transforms them from a simple pair of black shoes into a real feature piece.

Now this, this is going to be my showstopper! It comes in blue and black as you can see…

…and frankly I think it’s just about the best winter skirt I’ve seen! It’s a leather skirt on the outside and suede on the pleat in the middle. It’s very on trend as part of the 80s revival and it has a rather feminine military edge. All in all it’s on trend, it’s pretty and I think it’s fantastic! Both colours? I think so!

And what would I pair my new skirt love with? This gorgeous cream blouse! I adore the details on what would usually be a simple piece.

And my last pick? This incredible Ralph Lauren shirt dress. I love how comfortable and yet versatile shirt dresses are – you can so easily take them from day to night, from casual to dressy. And this particular one has adapted to the modern military trend perfectly. Comfort and style? Yes please!

It’s not even July yet and I already have a shopping list as long as my arm, ooops!
