Brunch has to be the best meal of the week so it only seemed fitting that the first London Living guide would be related to this delicious meal! Being based in Battersea there are lots of options when it comes to brunch – in fact I’ve already told you about one of my favourite brunches ever at Bunga Bunga

But that’s far from the be all and end all of the brunch scene, so let me introduce The Breakfast Club!

A few Sundays ago, one of Andy’s sisters was up in London for a night, so we took the opportunity to go for brunch the next morning, and I’d been desperate to try this place out – so it seemed like perfect timing!
They have cafes all over London and sell all day brunch – oh yeah, all day brunch all week. Excited yet? I thought so.
We had to queue for about 15 minutes when we got there as you can’t book tables, but it really is worth the wait. As it was a lovely summery morning (unlike the gross weather that we’re experiencing now – summer, what summer?) we sat outside and watched the world go by as we perused the menu.
Not feeling like a boozy brunch, we all opted for iced coffees, which frankly is exactly what I need when I get up on a Sunday. And they’re huuuge servings. Excellent.
Just look at this deliciousness! Though I could also have done with a bloody mary – another time!
As we nattered away and caught up, our waiter gave us time to decide. I really am terrible for sitting down and not even looking at the menu until someone comes to take my order!

Anyway, back to the food! Nicola ordered poached eggs with toast and a side of mushrooms.

It was a really generous portion for a very reasonable price and the yolks were perfectly running.
All in all, pretty damn good!
I always promise myself that I’ll order something different when I go for brunch, but I’d heard wonderful things about the pancakes here so I just had to order them. The things you do for blogging, eh?
And well, the reputation is richly deserved. These babies were oh-so-good.

The pancakes themselves were really, really fluffy and light and the bacon was beautifully crispy. I was also really pleased that there was a decent amount of bacon – although I could have done with a little more maple syrup as when I got through the first couple most of the syrup was gone.
Maybe next time I’ll ask for the syrup on the side.

Andy, always the most adventurous when it comes to ordering, ordered the huevos al benny – a twist on the classic eggs benny, which included chorizo, avocado, chili and hollandaise sauce. Boy was this a stand out dish.

Just look at it – you can almost taste it through the screen!
This really was a very special dish and a must order for when you visit.

What is it about runny eggs and chorizo that is so addictive?
Essentially, The Breakfast Club is massive foodporn and a foodie/food blogger’s dream!

What’s your favourite brunch spot in London? I can’t wait to hear all about them!
